The Risks We Take

As I’m sitting here writing my VERY FIRST BLOG POST EVER (!!!) I’m aware of the risks that I’m taking in starting something new:

1) That I will make mistakes along the way… likely many, many mistakes

2) That people will see me in a new way, and they may not like what they see

3) That opening my heart to the world will make me more vulnerable to hurt

4) That I could fail at expressing myself in the way I intend

I see these risks, I acknowledge them, and yet I finally refuse to let them take root and stand in my way. I believe that we all have a unique voice, something to say that someone out there needs to hear. This blog is the platform I choose to say something, to hopefully help even one person by simply sharing my truth and my experiences.

But I promise this isn’t a vanity experiment; I don’t believe that I’m some supermom who can provide all the answers. In fact, I’ll openly admit that I’m a struggling mother who is searching for the answers on a daily basis. I think it’s important to share our honest experiences, so that we can be real people who are fully here for one another. Yes, some of these experiences are beautiful and exciting, but a lot of them are also painful, tiring, and maybe lonely. It is exactly this contrast of the light and the dark, the beauty and the ugliness, which makes this life so unique and truly worth living.

So, here I go, off to explore this new vulnerability, and I really hope you will join me on the adventure.
